The Clay Temple

Our hands know how to work with clay.

It is a practice embedded deep in our remembering, ancient bodies.

The relationship we have with clay has been dug up and revealed in many ways.

One being its necessity in the Neolithic period when women played a crucial role in the development of pottery. Pottery became essential for storing food, particularly grain. The durable, sealed containers were a vital tool for survival in settling agricultural communities.

I return to clay not just from childhood, but from long before that, from a bloodline that knew how to work with the earth in service.

Do you hear a whisper from a far-back time, asking you to start again? To move your hands and see what is born?

Here, beside the ocean, in the studio, I laugh, build, and return to my ancient dance with earth that has never truly left.

Workshops & Commissions

The creation of the Goddess

As we dive into the creative acts once practiced inside the earth-temple spaces of Old Europe inside their homes,  I see the work of women.

Weaving.
Pottery.
Baking.
Making.
The lighting of the kiln.

It takes just a glance to see these acts for what they are:
Fiercely wild patterns.
Lifeforce in motion.

The harvesting of wild clay, fingernails thick with deep red earth.
The weaving of river reeds, gathered from the edge of waters that ran untamed through the valleys.

Together, we will journey back in time to 6500 – 3500 BCE. We will meet and learn of the Great Goddess. A symbol of the household, communal protection. A community devoted to the divine feminine.

Within these workshops, we will learn and make and re-member.

*Upcoming workshop dates will be released soon

Commission’s

Do you have a piece you’ve been envisioning. Something unique, created with intention, devotion, and care?

Together, we will dream, design, and co-create… bringing your vision to life with the earth in my hands and your story in its shape.

I favour working with terracotta and black clay, working as close to the earth as possible. My style is deeply informed by pieces unearthed after hundreds of years: raw, devotional, and free from perfection. If these forms and reverence resonates with your vision, it would be an honour to create with you.

Please note: I take on one commission per month, so patience and presence are part of the process
